Hi. This is a brand new blog site for School of Communication friends and alumni. Anyone can post messages about the School of Communication or the communication field. For example, if you are an alum and your company/organization currently has a need for a comm intern, you can make that announcement here.
Best!

PITT-GREENVILLE CRIME STOPPERS WANTS YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS YEAR’S TELETHON!!!
The Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers Telethon raises money for our local Crime Stoppers chapter. Proceeds pay out reward money to those who call in crime tips that help law enforcement officers across Pitt County make arrests.
Each year the telethon raises thousands of dollars in pledges from the community. During the telethon we play pre-taped music videos featuring businesses and organizations. The music videos make the telethon entertaining and unique. Folks from your group can pick popular old and/or new songs to lip-synch to and the video will be played at least once during the telethon. The most requested video for the weekend will win the “Crimey Award” before the telethon ends on Sunday. We hope to have several new videos this year to keep the Crime Stoppers tradition strong in our community.
We hope your business, church, organization or civic group will make a video. Here’s what you need to know:
1. It doesn’t cost you a single penny to do a music video; we just ask for your time and fun attitude. Remember, it’s some of the best free advertising you’ll ever do, and also benefits a great program.
2. Choose a popular new or old song.
3. E-mail Jonathan Crocker at jonathan@evolveinc.com with the title(s) of your song or songs and your vision for the music video. Jonathan is the videographer for Evolve which is the company that will be producing our telethon music videos.
4. Filming begins whenever is convenient for your group and Evolve. Jonathan will coordinate locations and times with you. We would like all videos to be shot by September as Jonathan will need time to finish up any last-minute editing.
5. Have a person or people responsible for transcribing and learning the words to the song We ask that you have the song(s) on a CD for Jonathan to edit in the video.
6. Be prepared with some ideas on what you want to do – like a routine – and be ready at your scheduled time.
7. Videos will be booked on a “first-come, first-serve” basis, so schedule early!!
Thank you for your time.
