Welcome to the new blog for the East Carolina University Classical Studies Program.  This will be your home for all the latest news about ECU Classics courses and events, for the burgeoning world of online Classical Studies and for whatever else sparks the interests of our contributors and readers.

The blog is named for the paradigmatic Greek symbols of wisdom, the goddess Athena and her owl.  It is not a coincidence that a rather famous former Classics student used the owl in her novels as the messenger bird for her young wizards.  The owl is the bringer of wise words.
